Since its launch in November last year, ChatGPT has been taking over the known online world. As with any revolutionary AI tool, there is a lot of noise out there about its capabilities and future impact.
If you’re just tuning in, or even if you’ve been keeping pace with all the uproar, you might be a little confused by what ChatGPT can do for you as a business owner.
The first thing to realize about ChatGPT is that it isn’t some hype-driven, overblown trend. It’s a years-in-development masterpiece of technology that’s fast evolving. And it WILL transform the business landscape as we know it.
The second thing to note is there are many self proclaimed “gurus” touting their programs, courses, masterminds, and so forth to awestruck entrepreneurs. Good intentions or not, it’s wise to avoid any investment in offerings like this until you’ve actually used ChatGPT yourself.
It’s simple to use and fun, too! Learning the basics will get you over the hurdle of the unknown. The more you practice your prompts with ChatGPT, the more useful it will become to you.
Content creation. From all types of copywriting to internal documents, ChatGPT excels at outlining, creative brainstorming, content organization, and more. Our team of copywriters have embraced ChatGPT for their own projects with gusto. Document your creative team’s application of ChatGPT and ongoing results — such as A/B testing of headlines, hooks, and CTAs.
Customer service. ChatGPT can help your agents with pre-written email response templates, phone scripts or guides, generating customer avatars, training materials, and more. Encouraging your customer services team to have fun with this groundbreaking tool is one way to build team bonds while expanding their knowledge.
Tech support. Although not equipped for complex tech support problems, ChatGPT can be used by IT support teams to provide timely answers for straightforward internal end user or even customer issues. It can be utilized to build and organize a database of information that can streamline processes, build out SOPs, and make better use of your team’s time and efforts.
One additional idea you might want to incorporate into your company’s AI strategy is to appoint a ChatGPT special committee. You can add stakeholders from various teams to develop a workable and current application plan, based on your business needs and the evolving technology. Webinars or Zoom meetings are a great way to present and discuss relevant information throughout your organization, to keep all team members up to speed.
On a personal level, you can use ChatGPT to help organize family information, records, or even plan your next vacation. The possibilities are truly endless, and your entire household (kids included!) can benefit while enjoying themselves.
I encourage all entrepreneurs to quickly embrace and get experimenting with ChatGPT, if they haven’t done so already. It’s an amazing time to witness this kind of pivotal, paradigm-shifting change. However, it’s important to seize the day when it comes to all things AI, so you have a workable foundation from which to build a realistic strategy.
Because the future is here, and it won’t wait.
